ABOUT SEED SUMO
Seed Sumo originated as a Tech Accelerator based in College Station, TX. We invested in over 25 companies over the course of 3 years and surrounded them with mentors to help make most of them sustainable for many years to come.
Seed Sumo is now a $20mm Venture Fund based in Austin, TX and we will mainly be investing in Health & Fitness companies. 20% of our fund will also be reserved for companies that we think can reach a billion people.
The reason behind this is we want to make an impact on this planet, and we also have created a half a billion dollar company that has every channel partner startups in this space would ever need. Nutrabolt which owns Cellucor.com and FitJoyNutrition.com has exploded over the past 4 years and retail sales will be close to $500mm this year. This was all started from a 3 bedroom apartment.
All of the founders of Seed Sumo grew up together in Austin and have been in the startup space since we were teenagers. We know the struggle, how to bootstrap and grind to the top. We want to give passionate founders that want to change the world a better shot.
Discover & Ignite Startups
We live and breath our values everyday. They are our foundation and we look to them before we make any decisions, create new partnerships, or invest in any company. They keep us in check.
All we do is win/win
Whether it is the way we structure deals, partnerships, or any agreement we or any of our startups get into, it must always be Win/Win. Plus we think it has another meaning too :)
Nothing is ImPossible
We believe this and try to instill this in each and every one of our founders. We love how even the word itself says "I'm Possible"
Front of the Jersey
It's amazing what can be accomplished when you quit thinking about yourself and focus on the team ALWAYS.
Actions speak louder than words
Don't talk about it, be about it. If you say you are going to do something...Do that thing.
Don't Sell Out
This pertains to a lot of things we do, but at the end of the day, Remember where you came from and don't do it for the money.
Pay it Forward
This is the easiest way we filter out people from our network, if people aren't willing to pay it forward or "give before they get", we typically don't do business with them.
